Not writing

I was supposed to be spending my free time yesterday writing...but I drew a sandwich instead.

Writing

I plan on focusing as much of my time as possible this week on writing. I have some idea's floating around inside my head that need attention. As a result, I may not post a drawing Monday thru Friday as I have been doing. I might miss a day or two.

World champion

Chuck is the undisputed world champion of projectile vomiting. Since turning professional 2 years ago he is undefeated...this might have something to do with the fact that there are no other projectile vomiting athletes to compete against.

I don't recommend it.

Potato party

Potato party!

Wait a second...is that potato on the left eating potato chips? That doesn't seem right.

Sasquatch

Another lonely night for this sad Sasquatch. He's sad, of course, because most humans don't believe he even exists.

Larry

I'd like to introduce you to Larry. He has a light bulb as a head. Everyone in the office hates him because he always comes up with all the good ideas.

Microwave Man

Do you have leftovers in the fridge that need heating up? Do you need a frozen dinner ready in less than 5 minutes? Did you just find a slice of pizza under the couch cushion that needs to be warmed up? If so, Microwave Man will be glad to assist.

Hump day

Seeing as it's Wednesday, and Wednesday is hump day, I thought I'd draw a guy with a hump going to work.

This is Mr. Humphrey. He has been a bankruptcy lawyer for the last 62 years, working at the firm he founded, Humphrey & Hunch.

Tony Talk-a-lot

Around the office this guy is known as Tony Talk-a-lot. If Tony has something interesting to say, he'll tell you about it. If Tony has something uninteresting to say, he'll tell you about it.

I've included the original pencil sketch, which I did while sitting on the couch. During the inking stage I decided to change his right arm because I thought he looked a little unbalanced.

Have you hugged a monster today?

I love to draw monsters. As I was doodling today I decided to look up the definition of monster in the dictionary. It read...

"Any creature so ugly or monstrous as to frighten people."

I found this to be a little disturbing. I have always envisioned monsters as big, dumb, loveable creatures. Sure, they may be ugly, but it's the kind of ugly that makes them adorable.

So if you haven't had a chance yet today, please give your friendly neighbourhood monster a hug.

Gunslinger on wheels

A bearded cowboy on a skateboard. Not a common form of transportation in the Old West I imagine.

I used a brush pen to ink this, rather than my standard pigment liner. The heavier strokes give the piece more weight. This particular brush pen allows for a bit of variation in the width of the stroke which adds a bit more life to the lines.

I want my work to stand on it's own with no colour, and I think I achieved that with this drawing.

Frozen noses

It's been so cold in my corner of the world lately that everyone in town has a frozen nose.

I was experimenting here a bit with seeing how few lines I could get away with in this drawing. Plus, I used a circle template and a ruler which are things I generally never touch.
