The Portrait Project: #1

This is Murphy.

Likes: pancakes; board games; farm animals

Dislikes: time travel; apple sauce; tractors

So I was kinda, sorta, maybe, possibly considering the idea of doing an ongoing Portrait Project. These would simply be head shots, with a brief description about the character. I was contemplating the idea of doing 365 of these this year, but if I plan on doing that I'm already behind (so I'll probably scrap that idea).

Anyway, I'll see if this evolves into anything. Is this something that you good folks might be interested in?

His nose made me smile... I dont know about the portrait thing... you have alot of great ideas that you always seem to doodle... bday announcement, special holidays, random jokes... those are what keeps this fresh. With portraits, I feel like it would kinda drag on and not bring anything new to the table...we'd kinda expect to see it everday. Whereas when you do your thing (like you are now) we get a little surprise treat everyday. Those are my two cents. :)

I second Abz comment! Actually he stole my comment, but he knew this beforehand and posted it before I got the chance to post it *sigh* stupid time machine....;)

Okay I shall be serious now...the way you blog now, it is a surprise every time! You never know when a speedo pops up or a mustache or a vespa series or pie eating monsters...Oh! Maybe if you still want to do a portrait series, maybe you can do it once a month or every two weeks that you put a character in the spotlight?

I don't know, I'm just rambling here. I love your blog the way it is now ^_^.

I like his slight 5'o clock shadow. Obviously he doesn't use a Gillette Mach3. Which btw, is a ridiculous name for a safety razor.

If you were to just do portraits, I'd have to turn elsewhere to get my fix of cowboy boots and underpants.

Of course anything you do would be cool, Jason, I'm just amazed you can come up with such amusing stuff every day.

I like the way you do things now. By the way you said this guy likes farm animals... does he usually slice them or roast them on a spit.

To all that commented and wrote me emails...

Thank you so very much for your feedback, I really appreciate it. You all made great points, and as a result I won't entertain the idea of doing an ongoing project. I'll keep my content completely random in nature.

Please Jason.

I enjoy the descriptions you gave them as much as your illustrations.

Gavin - Thanks for the input.

I like the idea of portraits, but I'm with everyone else about missing the more random doodles. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't do a series. Just know that we'll riot if that's ALL you do.

Voz - Wow, a riot brought on by a blog called "Happy Fun Hour"...how weird would that be?

Thanks so much for your input.
