Fun With Crayons

I've been using crayons a lot lately with my 18 month old son, just doodling with him on big pads of newsprint. I've never really been a fan of crayons (always preferring coloured pencils) but I'm starting to feel a bit of love towards my waxy little friends.

Anyway, I coloured this piece with crayons, scanned it, but didn't really like the look of the colour...so I converted it to black & white and really liked the feeling of texture it created.

I like this wonderfully dirty effect in BW. Be brave and show us the colored, he, he...

Crayons are great on big pads of newsprint. I guess that's why coloring books are always made out of pulpy paper like that.

I want to see the colored version too.

Tomas - Don't worry, I'll try to post a Crayon piece (in full colour) in the coming days.

Voz - Crayons + big pads of newsprint = kick ass good time.

Michael - You should break out the Crayons. I'd love to see what you could do with them!
